The $992,017 Problem

My Midas shops just set a new weekly sales record: $992,017

This is the second time this year we’ve broken our previous record.

We’re so close to the $1M glass ceiling….

But here’s the question that separates average business owners from exceptional ones:

What happens after we hit $1M?

Most owners high-five, celebrate, then drift back to their normal range.

That’s the $992K problem.

Getting close to a breakthrough, then accepting “close enough” as the new standard.

We are building a $100M company that’s currently operating at 50% capacity:

  • All-star leadership team
  • Nearly 100% remote back office
  • Managing Partners with uncapped earning potential via profit sharing

The math gets wild once we break through:

With 34 locations x average weekly sales:

  • $30k per week = $50M per year
  • $35k per week = $60M per year
  • $40k per week = $70M per year

Then adding 6, 8, 10+ more locations is no big deal.

Before you know it, you’ve got a $100M business.

Here’s what most people miss:

There are shops doing $50k, $60k, $70k, even $100k per week right now.

If they can do it, I can do it.

The limitation isn’t the market or economy.

The limitation isn’t the business model.

The limitation is the standards we set.

Every business has an invisible ceiling created by the leader’s expectations.

This happens at every level, from the C-suite to the store manager’s standards set for their small team.

They settle for B & C players because finding A players takes too long.

They accept systems that work “most of the time” instead of every time.

They walk by overfilled trash cans & dirty floors without saying or doing anything.

Raising your standards means:

Building for the business you want, not the business you have.

Investing in people and systems before you need them.

$1M per week will become our new normal as we aim for $1.5M, then $2M.

There’s no limit to what a business can produce when you stop accepting current performance as permanent.

Cheers!

Brian

P.S. What’s the one area in your life or business you’ve been accepting as “good enough?”
