They got into the business because my dad’s cousin was a franchisee.
I grew up working in the business.
Honestly, it creates an unfair advantage.
I remember being sweaty and covered in dirt at 16 years old – sweeping floors, taking out trash, moving inventory around.
The next summer, I worked in the back office doing accounts payable.
I saw my dad working late nights. I attended conferences and award dinners with him.
Today I’m doing the same thing with my daughters.
They travel with me to franchise conferences.
They see me speak on stage in front of hundreds of people.
They visit the shops & job sites to learn about sales, cost of goods, payroll, royalties, fixed expenses, customer service, conflict resolution, and more.

We teach our kids business literacy through real experience, not just hand them money.
As they say, “give a girl a fish, and you feed her for a day. Teach a girl to fish, and you feed her for a lifetime.”
