The 45-minute rule that held me back

In 2019, I could drive to every shop I owned within 45 minutes.

I believed my success was due to my hands-on management

That we’d fail if I couldn’t personally visit.

I had quite the ego!

That fear kept me from buying stores outside my comfort radius.

I turned down a deal that generates $10M+/year today for someone else.

Then I realized other owners operated more stores, further apart, at higher volume.

If they can do it, why not me?

I pushed myself to buy stores 90 minutes away and figured out how to build a remote team.

Then we bought more stores, another 90 minutes away in another direction.

I didn’t need more education, money, or experience.

I needed to get out of my own head.

The gap between where you are and where you want to be usually isn’t information.

It’s confidence + execution.

Cheers!
