“I want to own a business, but I’m not ready to quit my job.”
I hear this all the time from people looking to buy their first franchise.
You know you’re capable of doing a lot more, but nervous to take that jump since there are zero guarantees as an entrepreneur.
The business could take off like a rocket ship or make zero profit for 9 to 12 months.
So what options do you have if you don’t want to quit, understand the “semi-abenstee” model is a lie, but want to start building something for yourself?
There are a few different ways you can do it
Here’s the “start small” approach checklist
Low cost – this gives you more runway to invest into marketing, people, equipment, and more territories.
Low overhead – lower risk and freedom to not have a $10k/month lease, utilities, payroll, insurance, and huge debt payments hitting every month
Ability to scale – you don’t want to trade one job for another. The model needs to be able to run without you in the day-to-day (eventually)
Effort = Results – there’s a direct correlation between the effort you put into it and the results.
Flexibility – the business needs to work around your job. A model that demands you service customers from 9 to 5 isn’t going to work when you’re stuck in the office from 9 to 5.
So what brand meets all these: Frios Gourmet Pops
Frios is a premium mobile dessert franchise.
✅ Low Cost – the investment starts around $70,000 for a single territory with a truck.
✅ Low Overhead – no leases or employees to start (if you choose). Just expenses related to your vehicle.
✅ Ability to scale – grow by adding more trucks, carts, corporate events, weddings, and more territories. Build a team to do multiple events at the same time
✅ Efforts = Results – The more you hustle, the more you’ll make. For example, selling wholesale is a huge opportunity. Lock down country clubs, hotels, & restaurants to sell Frios to their customers. Orders are directly shipped from corporate. Build out a 100% commission sales team to scale this up.
✅ Flexibility – you can run it as much or as little as you want. Only do nights/weekends/summers or go all-in trying to max out your calendar. Totally up to you.
I just released a new YouTube video talking more about the opportunity
Full disclosure: I am an investor in Frios at the franchisor level.
My thesis was simple: the biggest competitor is Kona Ice (which is 18X bigger)
Frios has a superior product + more ways to sell it.
Everyone who tries the product LOVES it.

P.S. If Frios it’s the right fit my team can help you explore other franchises.
