“Franchising? Oh, that’s cute”

In 2016, I was 28 years old and just bought my first two auto repair franchises.

I’d go to Philly Chamber of Commerce events to find commercial fleet customers.

When they asked me what I did, most of the conversations ended with this “oh, that’s cute” vibe.

Many people think franchises are businesses with training wheels.

Something you buy when you don’t have any good ideas of your own.

It would’ve been way cooler to say I was launching a revolutionary tech startup to disrupt the auto repair industry

10 years later, my “cute little franchise business” does $50M/year in revenue and is growing at 15-20% every month

We have no outside investors, board to report to, or BS corporate politics.

I’d rather play a game with less competition than fight for a seat at the cool kids’ table.
