We officially launched Waterloo Houston yesterday, installing our first job.
My business partner Rick is crushing it.
In the last 30 days he’s sold:
- $37k backyard that includes a putting green
- $25k sports field for an active NFL player
- $4.5k & $7.0k for standard yards
But here’s the thing about high-ticket sales…
Not everyone can do this.
It requires someone who’s great at building trust with customers very quickly.
Installing turf is a huge investment that completely transforms a space.
You have to listen, understand their goals, budget, and provide options.
We’re dealing with a specific type of customer
Rich people don’t care about getting the cheapest price.
They care about getting it done right within their timeline.
They aren’t nickel and diming over $500 but they have high expectations.
One of our jobs must be finished right before his daughter’s graduation party later this month.
We have basically zero margin of error.
High risk but also a huge potential reward.
50+ neighbors & friends will be enjoying that backyard and putting green.
That one job could lead to 5 quotes and 2-3 jobs.
We will pour everything into execution to build a strong referral business.
Referrals have a high close rate and most likely lead to another referral.
That’s exactly how the founder built his business.
It’s exciting to see this business come to life!
Waterloo is building the largest turf company in America, one franchisee at a time.
In addition to being a franchisee, I’m also an investor & advisor to the franchisor.
