This week, I hosted Cameron Herold for a private interview inside 8-Figure Franchisee
Cameron is a world-renowned business leader who helped scale 1-800 GOT JUNK into one of the top franchises in the country. He’s written multiple best-selling books and coaches high-level entrepreneurs
I had two pages full of notes
I wasn’t the only one who loved it…..
Here are some of my biggest takeaways:
If you don’t have an executive assistant, you are one.
While they don’t directly produce revenue, they will free up 15 to 20 hours so you can focus on driving far more revenue than their salary.
Focus on the critical few, not the important many
There are more distractions than ever now. Say yes to things that directly drive revenue, increase gross margin, and make employees happier. Say no (or not yet) to everything else.
Stop chasing new ideas
It’s human nature to get excited by new ways of marketing, products, services, etc. It’s way more profitable to laser in on the “boring” proven ways, especially in a franchise.
A Players are free
Two A-players making $150k each ($300k) will out-produce five B-players each making $80k ($400k).
Don’t hold people accountable, hire accountable people
You can’t change who people are. Stop asking questions about what they KNOW and start asking questions about what they’ve DONE.
Women 30-55 make 85% of household buying decisions.
The wife already decided when your guy showed up on time, in a clean uniform, in a branded vehicle, and made her feel comfortable.
The basics cost almost nothing: call 15 minutes before you arrive, show up exactly when you said, walk her through before/after photos, and be respectful.
Plus a lot more
- Referral program to recruit A-Players
- Strategy to raise prices
- Writing a vivid vision
- When to expand
I think about business in dominoes
One good decision tips over the next one, and before you know it, you’ve created a chain reaction you never could have planned.
Take hiring. I stopped settling and hired an A-player manager at one of my shops. He took it from $20K/week to $40K with the same staff, marketing budget, & equipment.
That extra profit funded my next acquisition. That acquisition opened up a new market. I bought 5 more shops in that market.
That manager started recruiting his A-player friends. Now they’re running multiple locations and generating millions in revenue.
$50M/year later, I can trace every major leap back to a single domino that started it all.
That’s why I built 8-Figure Franchisee. To give other franchise owners opportunities to find their dominos by diving into my personal playbooks, connecting with other owners, and hearing directly from legends like Cameron Herold.
Reply here telling me about your business & goals if you want in.
Cheers!
